About Us

In 1949, construction of the Rivera Lodge began by local builder, Lloyd Alexander. Doris & Buzz Burzlander purchased the Lodge, while still under construction, and opened the business in the spring of 1952. For over 20 years, the Burzlanders and their daughters, Barbara and Bonnie catered to tourist and travelers coming to visit Pinedale and the Sublette County area. This was the beginning of many memories, pancake breakfasts and lifelong customers at the little red cabins, right along Pine Creek.

Doris and Buzz’s daughter, Barbara, and her husband, Andy Pfaff, took over the Rivera Lodge in 1975. The Pfaffs and their two sons, Trevor & Travis, continued to run the Lodge in the same tradition as Barb’s parents. During the next 32 years, Barb assumed command of the spatula during Sunday morning pancake breakfasts, with Andy in charge of the campfire. Guests would specifically request Saturday night reservations to ensure a spot by the fire, a taste of Doris’s original sourdough recipe and an opportunity to share stories.

Since 2007, the Rivera Lodge Bed & Breakfast has been owned and operated by Emi Domoto-Reilly and her faithful dog Bird. Emi dishes out a daily breakfast to the rooms along the creek and is proud to share her little piece of heaven with newcomers and all who have found the beauty of Sublette County as addictive as she has. Bird is the official Meeter & Greeter at the Rivera. She takes her job seriously and loves nothing more than a few belly rubs while you enjoy a quiet evening along Pine Creek.

Emi and Bird are honored to carry on some of the unique Rivera Lodge traditions started by the Burzlanders and the Pfaffs. This includes the Sunday morning pancake breakfasts served to all Saturday evening guests from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Please join us and start a tradition of your own in Pinedale, Wyoming – your base camp for adventure.

See you on Pine Creek!
